Crowing that gleeful declaration was one of the highlights of playing Application Crunch, one of the best games I enjoyed at last year’s IndieCade festival.
The good news is that this game is now available for purchase on Amazon. The bad news is that the Hatter’s Table, which shared some of the design team, did not meet its Kickstarter fundraising goal and remains ephemeral. However, we should focus on the positive. I just bought 2 copies of Application Crunch, one for me and one for my mom, a former college counselor. It is a highly enjoyable game, not least because it is a really spot-on analog for the actual process of applying for college.
Check this game out! It’s a great tabletop card game for a group of friends. I strongly recommend it. I hope to play it with my son (current age: one month) to help him get ready for the flurry of emotions, deadlines, and paperwork that go along with this huge responsibility we foist on our youth.
